Good AfternoonnnI am interested in becoming the owner of a Belgian Malinois. In terms of my background, I currently do not own a dog. I have owned a greyhound previously (Maggie – whom I rescued from a dog shelter) but she died several years ago. I have recently retired from serving 16 years in the British Army and with a far more stable home life I am now once again in a position to give a dog structure and more importantly plenty of attention on a daily basis. I worked closely with the breed for 2 years in particular during my service and understand that they are incredibly intelligent dogs that require constant stimulation and a lot of exercise. One of the many reasons why I am so attracted to the Belgian Malinois as a breed is because I am a very active person – I would like a dog that can accompany me on my daily runs and walks and so a high drive dog is a key requirement. nnIn terms of my home life I live with my long term partner in our own house with plenty of great walking and running routes on our doorstep. We have a 3 year old daughter who we have encouraged to be active and we are a very outdoors orientated family.nnI do not live local to your kennel but I have conducted a significant amount of research and was very impressed by your obvious passion for the breed. I also like the fact that you have a lifelong relationship with the dogs (and owners) and clearly take a genuine interest in your litters’ well being long after they leave with their new owners. I have investigated and researched breeders closer to my home in County Durham and to be honest they don’t seem as professional or committed as you. Although Warwickshire is a long way from my home I believe that owning a dog is a long term commitment and so the distance is irrelevant to me, so long as the dog is coming from an ethical breeder who has shown due diligence during the breeding process.nnI think that I would be ideally suited to owning a Belgian Malinois. I am passionate about the breed, have a reasonable understanding of the breed’s specific needs and could give any dog a loving home with structure and routine. I am lucky in that both my partner and I have jobs that allow us to work from home (not just during the COVID crisis) and so we will not be leaving the dog at home alone for any length of time. I am fortunate to live within 300 metres of woodland and regularly run through the County Durham countryside. This environment would I think be ideal for a Belgian Malinois to get out and explore with me, and provide excellent stimulation both physically and mentally.nnI would be more than happy to answer any questions that you have – having read your process on your website it is clear (and reassuring) that you carefully consider everyone that applies to buy a puppy from you. My only question at this stage is about your dogs and studs’ temperaments – what are they like in terms of personalities and sociability with other dogs and people?nnThank you for taking the time to consider my request.nnRegards,nnSteve BellnnAUTHOR: Steve BellnAUTHOR EMAIL: s_bell1980@hotmail.co.uknAUTHOR URL: nSUBJECT: [AnkerCanis UK] ContactnIP: 86.178.107.47nArrayn(n [1_Name] => Steve Belln [2_Email] => s_bell1980@hotmail.co.ukn [3_Comment] => Good AfternoonnnI am interested in becoming the owner of a Belgian Malinois.
