Hi,nnI can’t really believe I’m writing this message, but we tragically lost our beloved Weimaraner girl on Monday in the most horrible of circumstances.nWe had just arrived back from holiday and received a call from the kennels whilst we were still in the airport to say she had passed away from a heart attack that morning. We are absolutely heartbroken. She was 8 years old and this was totally out of the blue. It has been even harder to come to terms with as she normally came away on holidays with us.nnThe pleasure of sharing the last 8 years of our lives with the most intelligent, sassy, challenging and incredibly loyal lady with be imprinted into our souls.nnWe had started out with Tilly doing obedience training and concentrating on her socialisation. She went on to achieve her Gold Good Citizen award. The club that we took her to had an interest in Working Trials and Tilly really seemed to enjoy the majority of this. She however struggled to clear the scale without knocking herself and clearly this element was not for her. We would not push this, so never entered her in any actual trials but instead used to take her out doing a bit of tracking and scent work which she seemed to really enjoy. I suppose it was through this club and attending some of the Working trials and training events that our love for Mali’s was developed.nnOur Weimaraner was an amazing guard dog, not always overly vocal, but would speak on command. However she always seemed to pick up on strange individuals and certainly acted as a deterrent. nnA bit about us. My wife and I have a three year old boy called Ollie. I work shifts and my wife now works part time at the Donkey Sanctuary in Manchester. She has been there for 15 years and has always taken our dogs to work with her. There they have a number of enclosed fields where staff’s dogs can be excersised and socialised. Due to the nature of her job they are very understanding and flexible towards dog ownership. We live in Stockport and are a short walk away from the hills and are spoilt for choice of places to exercise our dogs.nnWe are primarily looking for a dog to be a part of the family but also to fulfil the role of a bit of a deterrent and guard dog. I don’t mean by that to be trained as a protection dog necessarily but similar qualities and traits as that of our old dog. I would also like to look at a bit of tracking again as a way of excersising and stimulation.nnI would be lying if I did not say that we have some concerns/trepidation over ownership of a Mali as we are both aware of the potential difficulties and high drive that they come with. We have however had a number of dogs over the years (owned and fostered) and worked through a number of issues. I know that we would be dedicated to our next pup. nnI cant recall exactly how I found your site but I was drawn to your breeding ethos of being a family pet dog alongside the working ability and seeing your dogs with your children gave me added confidence.nnI apologise for the lengthy message, but felt you would like a bit of background about ourselves. I would be interested in some more information about your upcoming litter and if indeed any of them would still be available.nnIf you have any further questions please dont hesitate to get in touch.nnThanks in advance nStevennnAUTHOR: Steven BlaynAUTHOR EMAIL: steblay@live.co.uknAUTHOR URL: nSUBJECT: [AnkerCanis UK] ContactnIP: 86.16.139.38nArrayn(n [1_Name] => Steven Blayn [2_Email] => steblay@live.co.ukn [3_Comment] => Hi,nnI can’t really believe I’m writing this message, but we tragically lost our beloved Weimaraner girl on Monday in the most horrible of circumstances.nWe had just arrived back from holiday and received a call from the kennels whilst we were still in the airport to say she had passed away from a heart attack that morning.
